MARY'S MONSTER
MARY SHELLEY
MARY’S MONSTER brings us Mary Shelley, Lord Byron and Percy Shelley like you have never seen them before. This is an edgy, sexy take on a story we think we know. Couture fashion meets gothic horror as we view their 19th century world through today’s eyes. These avant-garde writers broke down boundaries and re-wrote the rule book and so does our film.

‘Frankenstein’ Writer Mary Shelley Biopic, ‘Mary’s Monster,’ in Works From Fulwell 73
Mary Shelley is nothing like her peers, the friends she doesn’t have or need. She is a free spirited, charismatic loner determined
to do things her own way and re-write the rules of a broken and biased society. As the wild child daughter of an anarchist freedom fighter and revolutionary feminist we shouldn’t be surprised. This teenager loves discovery, adventure, risk and with a burning passion to write, she is seeking her story.
But Mary is haunted by an invisible, unquantifiable stalker, a supernatural creature maybe or perhaps something much darker, personal, linked to her troubled mind. Fighting to find her place in a world tarnished by injustice, poverty and disease, carrying grief and guilt from the death of her own brilliant mother, what is it that truly possesses her: pain, loss, torment or madness?
When Mary meets the uber-sexy poet Percy Shelley an awakening erupts within her. Thrust into the hippest pack of poets, spitting rhymes around Europe, she runs away from home, incinerating her reputation to indulge in the wild parties raging on the shores of Lake Geneva and the Genovese Coast.
Shelley’s best friend and global superstar Lord Byron sets his own seductive sights on Mary. Sexually awoken she falls in love and lust.
The temperamental emotions Shelley and Byron ignite within her force the dark energy that has plagued her since birth to finally break through. And so Mary begins to physically interact with her own inner ‘Monster,’ as she struggles to write her seminal science fiction novel, Frankenstein.
