16-year-old Sierra Deeblemeyer is every parent's dream; a hardworking, highly intelligent, straight A student and president of the school science club. Unfortunately, her only parent, Tracy, doesn't seem to notice - she's too busy fawning over her new boyfriend, Tobor; a heartless, metal machine (literally) who is hellbent on making Sierra's life as difficult as possible.
Sierra and her short tempered little brother, Bushy, must fight to protect their family from Tobor's emotional manipulation, unaware that Tobor's behaviors are driven by a top secret initiative: he has been sent by passive-aggressive aliens to prevent Sierra from becoming the future leader of the human resistance.
Let's address the android in the room... nobody thinks it's weird that Tobor is a robot? Nah, son. It's 2022 and tech companies are already demoing robot butlers. The future is now, whether you like it or not.
As far as Dereka is concerned—yes, she's an alien. Yes, she looks out of this world. But also, there's a lot of weird-looking people out there. And you know what people don't do when they see someone who looks weird? Ask them if they're a f****** alien. Dereka is passable for a particularly unattractive human which lets her go about her life without fear of being singled out (though she does tend to draw a lot of attention).
This show explores the emotional tug of war that happens when your single parent suddenly isn't so single. In many cases, when an outsider joins your family, it can feel like they're trying to destroy it. Power dynamics shift and relationships are strained as the newcomer invades every aspect of your personal life. You start to feel like it's your duty to keep things from changing, often making things worse in the process. This show is an exercise in working out those interpersonal issues through cartoons, and it's for all the people whose families aren't so perfect.

Emotional assassin sent to destroy Sierra’s homelife by dating her mother. He’s a master manipulator, but deep in his programming lie insecurities stemming from his constant failure to please his alien superiors (in other words, this cold metal grump’s got daddy issues of his own).
In the future, she will unite the human race and lead them to victory against alien invaders, but for now she’s just a teenage girl trying to survive in a toxic household. She’s constantly trying to salvage a strained relationship with her mother, while struggling to accept that this evil, cybernetic man-child is here to stay.
For the last 12 years, frantic single mom Tracy has dedicated her life to raising her two children—smothering them with love while struggling to make ends meet. Now, with her “handsome new mans” Tobor around the house, she finally has a chance to let loose and rediscover herself. Unfortunately, this creates friction with her kids, who aren’t used to sharing their mother’s attention and suddenly feel like they’re playing second fiddle to a heartless machine.
While his sister, Sierra, is tactful and calculated, Bushy is impulsive and reckless. He just wants his mom back, but lacks the emotional intelligence to communicate in a healthy way. Instead, he lashes out and makes just about every situation worse. He’s just a shrimpy little boy trying to prove he’s a big, tough man.
An evil but stylish alien commander who is Tobor’s direct superior. She loves being in charge and bossing Tobor around but hates doing any actual work. While she styles herself as a “badass boss lady,” she secretly fears that one day her supervisors will realize she doesn’t know what the f*** she’s doing. Despite her quest to invade and destabilize Earth, she is obsessed with human fashion and consumerism (and never turns down a good boozy brunch).
